Chapman 4. Color woodcut printed in eight colors on laid japanese paper. Edition of 150 (but only 124 known impressions). Signed, titled and numbered 59 in pencil. 6 5/8 x 16 1/16 inches; 168 x 408mm.

This print was awarded the Gold Medal for Best Print at the 1922 Society of California Printmakers exhibition in Los Angeles. It shows a remarkable mastery of color woodcutting techniques, and its unusual composition and perspective was probably influenced by japanese prints. Platt used family members to pose for the figures.
